★最佳賞日出地點，巃頂步道，位在阿里山公路台18線旁約５８ｋ上，於巃頂步道觀日亭，面向中央山脈層層疊疊山巒，不比祝山差喔｡

★東埔山登山口位於台21線148.3 K附近，從登山口至三角點距離約0.8 K，全長800公尺，中途有幾處休息處及觀景台。東埔山可瞭望鹿林山及麟趾山，瞭望玉山群峰更是棒，可惜起大霧視線不良。
